The CAM Museum starts from the general consideration that a public art collection reflects the culture of its time, serving as a powerful weapon of resistance and struggle in our daily lives, as well as a universal language of communication. Based on these principles, it aims to create a dynamic and multidisciplinary reality.
The CAM Museum covers an area of approximately 2,000 square meters dedicated to the permanent exhibition. It has acquired a collection of around 2,000 contemporary artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, multimedia art, and installations by artists from all over the world, representing 92 countries.
Founded in 2005 by Antonio Manfredi, the museum presents itself as a dynamic cultural hub and an experimental laboratory, with the goal of becoming a reference point for universal contemporary art. Its mission is to provide a place for cultural exchange and interaction, fostering research and education through art that represents the diversity and aesthetic complexity of the present.
The MuseumCAM features a concert area, an art library, a co-working space, a painting workshop, an audio-video control room, the CAM Video Box, the CAM Factory, a hall for temporary exhibitions, and a concept bar inside the museum, EXIT.
The CAM offers visitors a diverse program of events, guided tours, and educational activities, and permanently exhibits one of the largest European collections of multimedia art, Oriental art, contemporary African art, Balkan art, and the most comprehensive collection of works by contemporary Neapolitan artists from the II post-World War period to today.
The CAM Museum has agreements with the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli,” the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, and the Suor Orsola Benincasa University (UNISOB).
