SURVIVAL ROOM

This room takes its name from the “Survival Festival,” the largest festival dedicated to the survival of contemporary art, conceived by the CAM Museum. The Festival centers on the theme of contemporary art’s survival in today’s society, offering a rich program that includes a major main event accompanied by performances, live music, talks, and workshops.
Launched by the CAM Museum in 2016, the Festival is an extraordinary visual and media experiment involving international artists to address critical questions such as: What is contemporary art today? Does the artist still have a role in contemporary society? Is there a difference between common artistic thought and the aesthetic dictated by the global speculative art market? Has culture become a machine producing art as a consumable commodity, or does the concept of free art still exist to elevate the human spirit?
In addition to the works showcased during the Survival Festival, the room permanently hosts paintings, sculptures, and installations by international artists.
