LUO XIAOHAN

Xiaohan Luo
Exhibition at CAM Museum, Naples
17 – 24 October 2025

As an artist, Xiaohan Luo works across painting, installation, and film to explore how silence can be seen and felt. Her moving image practice, the focus of this exhibition, draws on her lived experience of partial hearing to transform vibration and rhythm into visual and emotional language. Through light, gesture, and movement, Luo translates the sensory world of sound into images that linger between perception and memory.

Her videos unfold slowly, creating spaces where time seems to expand. Rather than documenting, they translate: a flicker of fabric, a trembling surface, a pulse of red that feels almost audible. Each frame carries a delicate rhythm, inviting the viewer to listen through sight and to sense presence within stillness.

This exhibition features Red Veil, Am I… I am?, If Clouds Know Number, Language & Sound, and A Broken Voice. Together they form a meditation on communication and vulnerability, tracing how memory and identity resonate through quietness and light.

Luo’s work invites viewers to approach silence as something alive and shared. In her world, the act of watching becomes a form of listening, and every image carries the echo of what cannot be heard but can still be felt.
