CAM Museum presents On Pole and Artist’s new series Either I forget right away or never forget , two photographic series by artist Tremoring Steel that examines the body’s relationship to labour, beauty, and endurance through the physical language of pole dance. The artist’s lens turns from spectacle to intimacy, revealing what performance conceals: the bruises that trace repetition, the shoes that challenge balance, the quiet ache that accompanies strength.
Each photograph captures the point where effort becomes expression. The body appears not as display but as archive, holding the memory of practice within muscle and skin. Through these details, this solo exhibition reframes pole dance as a discipline of precision and persistence, where grace is inseparable from exertion.
The artist looks for truth in moments of stillness. Her photographs reveal the subtle transitions between control and release, when concentration gives way to breath. In these quiet intervals, strength feels tender, and the body becomes its own form of language.
