ROOM AGAINST THE MAFIA

The CAM is now internationally renowned for its provocations and its artistic battles, firmly positioned against the Camorra. Events organized by the CAM have often brought to the public’s attention, both within and beyond the art world, pressing issues of current affairs, social hardships, political corruption, and, in particular, the problems associated with the presence of the Camorra on both a national and international level.
These artistic battles have caused significant challenges for the museum in Casoria, but the awareness that art can contribute to reflecting on the effects of a criminal subculture and a dangerous silent complicity has motivated the CAM to persist on this path.
The Room against the Mafia was inaugurated in 2016 by the writer Roberto Saviano.
The artists whose works are exhibited include: Lello Lopez, Sergio Fermariello, Luciano Ferrara, Giuseppe Di Guida, Sebastiano Deva, Giorgio Scotti, Monica Biancardi, Giuseppe De Marco, Walter Picardi, Mario La Porta, Michele Attianese, Fulvio Di Napoli, and Oreste Pipolo. Additionally, the installation includes the work by Antonio Manfredi, presented at the 54th Venice Biennale, titled “May Be. They Could Live Here. International Warrant_Work in Regress 2011.”
